Markus Hoft
Dancer, Choreograph, Yoga/Pilates teacher and Massage Therapist. My teaching is also influenced by action theater and capoeira. Currently I research on neurobiology and anatomy for contactimprovisation. I offer an island to meet and learn about body and humanity in dance. In Cadaques I teach contact technique combined with nature images and anatomic based bodywork. Focusing on head, spine and pelvic connection (centre). Using our Bone Structures, spiral Muscle Chains, Nerve Pathways and all Connecting Tissue (Fascia). Focusing in our body we learn to dance in a healthy way and we deepen our personal and artistic experience in dancing (contact). “Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion” (Matha Graham). I love improvised dance, nature, philosophy and video arts. There I discover more and more the beauty and challenge of connection with the moment. What I’m interested in is to work on authentic dance moments that reveal the unique connection of feelings and needs we will find at the place.
In the dance training we will practice Contact-Tango technique such as manipulation through weight shift, read and write movements through body axis.
In the afternoon performance-nature-video sessions we connect with the group, the place and what makes this moment special. We will create a performance from the resources and associations we find. The video camera serves the performance as one of the given resources. It can serve as a stage creating device, reference point and tool to deconstruct reality. Dance-CV Tobias
